We take a £50 deposit when booking. Please note, 20% of your entire booking fee is non-refundable. This is to help cover us in the event of unexpected cancellations. We are happy to reschedule within 24 hours’ notice.
We’ll then take the rest of the payment the evening before the shoot. Unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather will result in a free re-booking. Cancellations within 24 hours are subject to 20% of the total fee.
Under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, all photographs legally belong to Charlotte Harvey Photography and can be used by the company for commercial, advertising or portfolio purposes. The client is entitled to use their photographs for personal use – for example, printing or transferring to a canvas. However, the photos must not be edited, manipulated or used for advertising.
The exception to this is commercial photography such as corporate photo shoots. Clients can pay an additional fee to have full rights to use their photos in a commercial context. More information on your rights is outlined in your terms and conditions document when you book your shoot.
As a mother, I understand and appreciate how important safety is, particularly when working with children. I am fully DBS checked and can assure the utmost professionalism when working with children or vulnerable people.
We offer a studio at our base on Strensall Common, York, North Yorkshire. This is a large space which we can decorate to your tastes, including a vast range of backdrops, lights and props.
If you have a suitable environment for photography at home, we can come to you. We can bring our backdrops, lights and props to turn your home into a custom-made photography studio. Please note that we charge travel expenses for all shoots located more than 10 miles from York. This is charged per mile and all travel expenses must be prepaid.
Yes we do & there no extra charge. They make the perfect gift.
You’ll be given a ‘sneak peek’ up to 3 days after your shoot, with low resolution shots of some of your edited photographs. The full, professionally retouched gallery will be available within 3 weeks. Please note, there are additional waiting times of up to 10-15 weeks for wedding albums.
We at Charlotte Harvey photography have had many children with additional needs in before. we make sure we take time to let the child get use to us before we do the shoot. We also don’t rush the shoot we take it as slow as we need too. My son has ADHD so we have experience personally Please message if you have any more questions.
For wider shots, such as large family shoots, I use a Nikon 50mm. For close-up shots, such as new-born photography, I use a Nikon 24mm-70mm. I also use backdrops, photo props, studio lights, and of course, homemade cakes.
We can provide lino flooring or fake grass to create a wipe-clean floor for cake smash shoots in your home. We also offer backdrops, or for additional peace of mind, you can organise your shoot to take place in our studio on Strensall Common.
Between 5 & 21 days old. I find the Perfect age is 5-10 days old.
Yes we are here at Charlotte Harvey Photography safety is are number one priority. Ive had one to one training with one of the best newborn safety instructors in the UK.
It’s very common for newborns to suffer from ‘newborn acne’. As a trained professional, I am completely used to this and there is no need to reschedule your shoot. I can edit these out of your shots, but please bear in mind this may delay your turnaround times.
Yes of cause i have done many of shoots with grandparents and extended family is no problem there is a small charge for more than 6 just drop me a email thank you
If your shoot is booked outside and there is bad weather forecasted, we can arrange a new date free of charge. We reserve the right to charge 20% for bookings cancelled within 24 hours. Alternatively, we can set up our studio indoors or come to you if you’d still like to go ahead on the day.
We are covered with Public Liability Insurance up to a total of £1 million.
Many people are camera shy, which is all part of the challenge! It’s my job to make you feel at ease, whether it’s a wedding shoot, corporate profile or any other kind of image. I will take the time to make you feel relaxed, instructing you on the best poses and natural looks. After a few minutes, all nerves will have subsided. You’re there to smile, so my job is to make you smile!
Yes you can as long as you have purchased the digital image and you do not put any filters onto it.
Of cause they can but we do not provide the cake you would need to provide your own cake. We also have fake or fresh fruit cakes available instead.
Please be aware that Charlotte Harvey Photography holds no liability if your child has an allergic reaction during or after one of our cake smashes.
We understand that sometimes public transport, traffic, parking etc.. can mean that you may be a little late. And that’s ok, as long as you let us know. Please be aware the if your 15 minuets late ect this will be taken from your shoot time. However, due to shooting schedules and other bookings, if you’re going to be later than 30mins we will have to re-book your shoot and charge a small fee.
Sometimes the unexpected happens and you can’t make it. As long as you let us know with as much notice as possible, we will work with you to re-book your session.
However, if you leave it till the last minute to notify us or you simply don’t come, we will have to charge a fee to re-book your shoot.
No all deposits are non refundable. Please keep this in mind when booking a shoot.
Yes absolutely they make the perfect gift. Any shoot can be put onto a gift voucher & better yet there is no extra charge just the shoot fee to pay.
Sorry mobiles are allowed on the shoot.
That isn’t a problem we understand some parents don’t want there children online for personal or safety reason’s. We will make sure your photo’s do NOT go online or used in advertisements. Any more questions about this just ask.
